1. What is Life Always Facing Forward (LAFF)?

LAFF is a nonprofit community built by survivors, caregivers, and advocates to support people facing cancer. We exist to create connection, build resilience, and bring humor and hope to hard times. LAFF offers emotional support, resources, community events, and peer-led storytelling spaces.

2. Is LAFF a licensed healthcare or mental health provider?

No. LAFF is not a medical provider, mental health provider, or licensed care agency. We do not offer diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or crisis services. Our peer support is non-clinical and designed to complement, not replace, professional care.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency or mental health crisis, please call 911 or a licensed provider in your area.

3. Who can join or participate in LAFF programs?

LAFF is open to:

  • Cancer patients (in or out of treatment).
  • Survivors and thrivers.
  • Caregivers and family members.
  • Supporters and allies.

We are inclusive and welcoming regardless of age, gender, background, or diagnosis status.

4. Is there a cost to participate in LAFF?

Most of our services, online groups, and community offerings are free. In some cases, special workshops or events may have a suggested donation or registration fee, which will be clearly communicated in advance.

Note: LAFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

5. What kind of support does LAFF offer?

We offer:

  • Peer-led emotional support groups.
  • In-person and virtual community gatherings.
  • Story-sharing spaces.
  • Advocacy tools and education.
  • Hopeful, humorous, and heartfelt resources.

We do not offer:

  • Medical treatment or diagnosis.
  • Therapy or counseling.
  • Legal or financial planning.
6. How does LAFF protect my privacy?

We respect your privacy. LAFF collects only the personal information necessary to connect you with our programs or process donations. We will never sell or misuse your information.

Privacy Note: Any stories shared in group spaces or public platforms (with your permission) may be used in educational or promotional materials. You will be asked for consent before anything is shared publicly.

7. Are LAFF groups and events safe spaces?

We do our best to create supportive, nonjudgmental, and inclusive spaces. All participants are expected to follow our Community Guidelines, which prohibit discrimination, harassment, or any kind of harmful behavior.

Note: LAFF reserves the right to remove individuals from programs or groups who violate these standards.

8. Can I volunteer with LAFF?

Yes! We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Volunteers must follow our code of conduct, complete any required training, and may be subject to background checks for certain roles.

9. Can I use LAFF content or branding?

All LAFF materials, including logos, programs names, and original content, are property of Life Always Facing Forward and may not be used without written permission.

We take your feedback seriously. Please contact us if you have a concern about anything you’ve experienced with LAFF. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and kindness.
